MAPS
The map as a filter for information
At the core of every Project Atlas is the interactive map, enabling viewers to zoom from a broad overview to specific project locations. The text field next to the map updates automatically with explanations related to the displayed content, providing users with precisely the information relevant to them.
Overview map
The first thing most stakeholders want to know is the location of a project. The overview map provides insight into the spatial lay-out of the project and is updated upon the completion of each design phase.
Thematic maps
Within each project, there are themes that stakeholders need to be informed about. This often depends on the type of project and the phase it is in. Think of topics such as noise mitigation, nature compensation, or the expected hindrance during the construction phase. Instead of lengthy text documents, we visualize these themes on the map and provide location specific textual explanations.
Use the Project Atlas Everywhere
The Project Atlas can be deployed in many different ways and at various moments: as a source of project information on the website, during information sessions on large touchscreens, for work meetings in the office or online, for communication via social channels, or on-site with a laptop, tablet, or smartphone. With the Project Atlas, you have all relevant project information at your fingertips anytime and anywhere.
3D VISUALIZATION
Making Visual Impact Understandable
3D visualizations provide a clear representation of a project, helping stakeholders without technical backgrounds better understand its visual impact. The visualizations are updated with additional detail after each major design phase is completed.
Photomontages
Map Visualization
For aspects of a project requiring additional clarification, photomontages are included. 3D visualizations are integrated into 360-degree photos from both aerial and ground perspectives. Switching between before and after views makes the visual impact immediately apparent.
Technical design drawings are translated into a single 3D visualization model and projected precisely onto the map. This clearly illustrates the spatial impact of the entire project.
PLATFORM
Developed especially for stakeholder communication
Web Application
The Project Atlas is a web application. All that is needed to view the Project Atlas is a device with an up-to-date web browser and an internet connection. The Project Atlas user interface adapts to the screen on which it is used.
Highly Optimized
The Project Atlas application and all associated data are optimized to ensure stability and smooth operation, even on devices with limited graphic processing power.
Secured Maps
Each Project Atlas includes two versions by default: a publicly accessible version and a password-protected version. This can, for example, be used to share information with local authorities.
Client Portal
In the client portal, clients can modify and maintain components of the Project Atlas, such as maps and texts. Additionally, user statistics for the Project Atlas can be viewed here, and users for both the application and the portal can be added or removed.
GDPR Compliant
The Project Atlas complies with European privacy legislation. The application includes a cookie notification and a privacy statement.
Development
The Project Atlas is a product of XKP Visual Engineers. Based on feedback and in collaboration with our clients, we continuously improve the platform and add new functionalities.
PARTICIPATE
Collecting Stakeholder Feedback
Well-informed stakeholders ask more targeted questions, can form an informed opinion, and provide valuable insights. The Project Atlas can be used to collect stakeholder feedback.
Comments Directly on the Map
With Participate, users can post messages at specific locations on the map. Additional questions can be added to provide the project team with more context regarding the question or comment.
Structured Handling
Subsequently, the project team can systematically manage and respond to these messages through the client portal. Responses deemed relevant to other stakeholders can be published in the atlas.
ADVICE AND SERVICE
Making the Atlas a Success Together
The Project Atlas is a success when all stakeholders find and understand the information relevant to them.
However, each project is unique. That's why we collaborate and provide advice to ensure the Atlas meets the communication needs of the project. This includes offering short workshops and presentations.
After delivery, we remain actively involved. We monitor visitor numbers and evaluate together to see how we can potentially further improve.
PROJECTVIDEO
Providing context
Project videos offer stakeholders an accessible way to understand the background of a project.
Adding a project video to the Project Atlas helps users better place the changes in their environment within the context of the project.
